In a surprising turn of events, Mr Innocent Chiuwa, the Chairman of the Ukwa West All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Party, has vehemently denied his involvement in a controversial “Vote of Confidence” initiative on Chief Eruba Dimgba, the Abia State representative on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
Chiuwa expresses his discontent with the misleading information of his signature being included in a list backing Dimgba which ddescribed his achievements as “satisfactory and commendable” in the realms of human capital development and community services.
In a statement shared with HopeAlive.Media.ng, Chiuwa articulated his frustration, revealing that he was misled by Mr Mgbeahuru Okechukwu, who presented him with a document that he believed was signed in good faith.
“I signed the document on trust,” Chiuwa maintained, explaining that his participation stemmed from discussions held during a meeting of the Asa group think tank, which aimed to support their local representative and not to endorse Dimgba’s continued position as NDDC Abia Rep or for any other role.
Condemning the circumstances surrounding the vote, he described the situation as duplicitous and distancing himself from what he characterised as a hastily convened meeting and the associated documents supporting Chief Eruba Dimgba
In the voice note he circulated, Chiuwa strongly dissociated himself from the alleged twenty million naira (20,000,000) cash transaction purportedly tied to the ”
“Vote of confidence” passed, firmly stated that Dimgba’s underperformance is evident and that he could not in good conscience, align himself with such an arrangement of supporting his 2027 House of Representatives inordinate ambition or his continuity as Abia NDDC Representative.
“I was not adequately informed about the contents of the document when it was presented for my signature, i signed the document in trust and in the spirit camaraderie, 
he lamented.
“I acted out of a sense of honesty and fellowship. Sadly, I have learned my lesson through this challenging experience.”
In conclusion, he implored the people of Ukwa and the wider public to dismiss any claims, suggesting his endorsement, urging them to overlook the document that wrongly had his signature.
