Chief Samuel Okezie Nwogu, Esq, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Ukwa East/West Federal Constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election, attended the dedication of the daughter of the spokesperson of the Asa Liberation Movement (ALM), Comrade Charles Ehiemere, in Oyigbo, Rivers State.
The ceremony, held on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at the Ehiemere family residence in Ejerenwa London Estate, Location Road, attracted relatives, friends, political associates and other guests.
Nwogu, who attended with members of his campaign team, congratulated Ehiemere and his wife on the dedication of their daughter, Princess Ziva Chimamanda Charles. He described children as gifts from God and prayed for the child’s good health, wisdom, and well-being, describing Charles as an admirable and energetic personality who has positioned himself for a better future.
“Since time immemorial, Charles has positioned himself as a man with an admirable and energetic spirit. It was good to be here to support and celebrate with the family on the occasion of their daughter’s dedication,” Nwogu said.
He also prayed for God’s provision and guidance for the family, including the resources needed to educate and care for their children.
Chief Nwogu said his attendance was motivated by his relationship with the family and his desire to support them during an important occasion, rather than by the approaching 2027 election.
He added that his relationship with Ehiemere’s family extended beyond politics and that public leadership should include solidarity with people during significant moments in their lives.
However, Nwogu used the occasion to appeal to voters in the Ukwa East/West Federal Constituency to support his candidacy in the 2027 election. He cited his previous appointments in the state as evidence of his experience and said he would pursue development and effective representation if elected.
“Dear Ukwa electorate, consider my candidacy as the best to bring greater development to the Ukwa Federal Constituency, given my track record in the previous appointments I have held in the state,” he said.
Responding, Ehiemere Charles thanked the APC candidate Chief Nwogu and members of his team for attending the ceremony. He described the visit as a gesture of friendship, solidarity and concern, and prayed for blessings and safe travels for the visitors who came to be with them during their daughter’s dedication.
He also commended Chief Nwogu for pulling his entire team to celebrate with his family and his reported efforts to empower Ukwa people, describing him as an “empowerment master of our time”
Those present at the ceremony included Hon. Tony Mezie Nwaubani; the National Secretary of the Asa Development Union, Sir Boniface Nwaigwe; the National President of New Ukwa Progressive Initiative (NUPI), Dr. Franklin Akanwa; the Asa Libration Movement (ALM) President, Hon. Emeka Aaron Adiele; Chief David Nwogu; Dr. Kingsley Chibor; and other members of Nwogu’s campaign team.
