The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially published the name of Chief Samuel Okezie Nwogu, Esq., as the duly nominated candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The publication, released by INEC on Saturday, August 1, 2026, forms part of the commission’s official list of duly nominated presidential and National Assembly candidates submitted by political parties for the 2027 polls.
With the publication, Chief Nwogu is officially recognised by the electoral umpire as the APC’s candidate for the House of Representatives seat representing Ukwa East and Ukwa West Federal Constituency.
According to the statement, INEC’s publication signifies formal recognition of Chief Nwogu’s nomination in line with the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), the Electoral Act, 2022, the guidelines of the All Progressives Congress, and other applicable electoral regulations.
The development also marks the completion of the nomination process for the constituency and affirms Chief Nwogu as the APC’s authentic candidate for the forthcoming House of Representatives election, subject to the provisions of the law.
The publication of candidates by INEC is a key milestone in the build-up to the 2027 general elections, confirming the names of candidates nominated by political parties to contest elective offices across the country.
