The Ukwa East Local Government Chairman, Hon. Chibunna Akara has welcomed Hon. Lewis Obianyi, member representing the good people of Ukwa East in the Abia State House Assembly, into the Labour Party, describing him as a valuable asset to the party. He emphasised that the Labour Party values all members, regardless of their background or tenure, and assured Hon. Lewis Obianyi of a warm and inclusive environment.
Hon. Akara urged the party leaders to continue recruiting like-minded individuals into the party to bolster support for Governor Otti in the lead-up to 2027, noting that Hon. Lewis Obianyi’s experience and expertise would be invaluable to the party’s growth and success in the LGA.
Hon. Lewis Obianyi, the member representing Ukwa East State Constituency in the Abia House of Assembly, and former Local Government Chairman alongside the PDP woman leader was formally received into the Labour Party today, the 20th of December 2025, by the Executive Chairman of Ukwa East Local Government Area, Hon. Chibunna Akara, thanked the LGA boss and other party members for the unwavering support and generous acceptance.
In his speech, Hon. Lewis Obianyi expressed gratitude to the LGA boss and other party members for the warm reception, stating that his decision to join the party was driven by the good works of the Governor in the State and his desire to contribute to the re-election of Dr Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, in 2027. He pledged loyalty and commitment to the party, promising to work tirelessly to strengthen its presence in Ikwuorieator East ward and beyond, citing his confidence in the vision of Dr. Alex Chioma Otti and Hon. Chibunna Akara as
key factors that fueled his decision to join the Labour Party.
