The Umubelle youth of Azumini Ndoki, Ukwa East Local Government Area of Abia State, in a letter addressed to the Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Chioma Otti OFR, has requested that their traditional ruler His Royal Majesty, Prof. Ebere Edward Eule, Eze Onye Nwe Ali, Azumini Ndoki the X be reinstated to his traditional stool.
The youth body cited no tangible reason for his abrupt dethronement, they classified the act as a calculated attempt to promote chaos, disunity and power tussle by political actors masquerading as saints in the “New Abia. They however, requested Gov. Otti to listen to their prayers and reinstate Eze Edward to his throne following the high court ruling in Obehie Asa, Ukwa Division.

LETTER OF PASSIONATE APPEAL TO THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF ABIA STATE, HIS EXCELLENCY, DR. ALEX CHIOMA OTTI, OFR, TO REINSTATE HRM EZE PROF. EBERE EDWARD EULE TO HIS THRONE.
We the Umubelle Youth Association of Azumini Ndoki, passionately appeal to the government of Abia State, led by His Excellency Dr Alex Otti, to kindly reconsider and withdraw the appeal entered in the Appeal Court of Owerri against the ruling of the High Court of Ukwa Division in favour of HRM Eze Ebere Eule, PhD.
Umubelle youths have watched and followed closely the efforts put forward to dethrone our Eze Onye Nwe Ali, the X of the ancient Azumini Ndoki kingdom. These efforts have thrown the community into a deeper crisis. Regrettably, the Interim Administrative Committee or whatever is alien and unacceptable to our customs and traditions, thereby causing more division in our dear community.
However, we wish to re-emphasise that Azumini Ndoki is a border community and needs its traditional ruler at all times to always be on the ground to give directions physically and spiritually, and to also provide leadership at this critical moment.
Our community has suffered immensely since the pronouncement of suspension/dethronement of our traditional ruler by the Abia State government. Umubelle youth have observed that the entire traditional leadership tussle in our community is merely political and not rooted in any of our culture, customs, and traditions. We are still wondering why a few individuals in our community want our respected ancient throne desecrated, and our king dethroned by all means, which is a taboo in Azumini Ndoki.
Azumini Ndoki is long known as the most peaceful community in the entire Ndoki Clan. We have enjoyed peace and harmony with neighbouring communities and have maintained mutual respect for one another and also have respect for constituted authorities, and most importantly, we have maximum respect and loyalty to the throne of Azumini Ndoki autonomous community, irrespective of who occupies it.
Our traditional leadership structure is designed in a way that our traditional ruler undergoes rigorous traditional processes before ascending the throne. As a people, we hold our traditional leadership systems and structures dearly. We equally value our customs and traditions, which are founded and rooted in truth, integrity and respect for our onye enwe ali and natural ruler.
Ordinarily, one would have expected that the judgment of the High Court, Ukwa division, would have prevailed for peace to be restored in Azumini Ndoki. We strongly believe and support your transformation agenda and infrastructural development in our dear state and urge you to prioritise the welfare of our traditional rulers and also give them more important roles to play in your government. Always partner with them by engaging them in a town hall meeting to understand their problems and the real need of their people in other to help you as a governor to make impactful developmental decisions.
Sincerely, we do not see any way in which the throne of Azumini, the ancient kingdom, has become a threat to the government of Abia state or to our dear Governor in particular, considering that our king has no interest in politics.
HRM Eze Prof. Ebere Edward Eule is an international scholar and a potential asset to the government of Abia State, Ukwa East, and also to our beloved community, if properly harnessed by engaging him in more governance. He is a Professor of sociology whose international exposure and intellectual pedigree have earned him vast experience in leadership and governance, especially in the area of community development.
Conclusively, we, the Umubelle Youth Association of Azumini Ndoki, sincerely thank our indefatigable governor, Dr Alex Chioma Otti OFR, in advance, as we believe in his capacity to restore peace and bring an end to this unfortunate litigation between the state government and our royal majesty.
