Engr. Emeka Richard C. has resigned from his position as Special Adviser and Spokesperson on Media to High Chief Sylvanus Uzoma Nwaji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ukwa West State Constituency.
In a resignation letter signed by him on Monday, August 17, 2026, Richard formally communicated his decision to step down from his position and responsibilities within Nwaji’s political and media team.
Richard stated that the resignation takes effect from the date of the notice, adding that the decision was reached after careful consideration and was taken with respect for Nwaji’s person, leadership, and the confidence he had placed in him during his period of service.
In the letter, Richard expressed appreciation for the opportunity to work with Nwaji and for the trust reposed in him while carrying out his responsibilities.
He also acknowledged the experience he gained during his time with the political team, describing the opportunity to contribute to Nwaji’s political aspirations as one he remained grateful for.
“I sincerely appreciate the opportunity, trust, and valuable experience I have gained while working with you,” Richard said in the letter.
He further stated that he remained grateful for Nwaji’s leadership and for the privilege of contributing, in his own capacity, to his political aspirations and efforts to represent the people of Ukwa West State Constituency.
Richard, however, made it clear that his decision to resign was not prompted by disrespect or ill will towards Nwaji.
He explained that personal considerations had necessitated his decision to step away from his responsibilities within the political and media team at this time.
“I respectfully request that my decision be accepted in good faith, as it is not borne out of disrespect or ill will, but from personal considerations that require me to take this step at this time,” he stated.
The former Special Adviser and Spokesperson on Media did not provide further details about the personal considerations that informed his resignation.
He also did not allege any disagreement, dispute or conflict with Nwaji in the resignation letter.
Rather, Richard used the opportunity to express his goodwill towards the APC candidate, wishing him continued success, strength and victory in his political pursuit.
He specifically wished Nwaji success in his bid to secure the mandate to represent the people of Ukwa West State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly.
Richard’s resignation marks the end of his formal role within Nwaji’s political and media team, following his decision to step aside for personal reasons.
