The Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Ukwa East and Ukwa West Federal Constituency have commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum, Hope Uzodinma, and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for what they described as a fair and transparent primary process that produced Chief (Barr.) Samuel Okezie Nwogu and Prince Paul Ikonne as the party’s candidates for the 2027 general elections.
The commendation was made during a press conference held on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Cluster Hall, Obehie Asa, in Ukwa West Local Government Area, where the group expressed appreciation to the President, the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, the National Working Committee, and the entire leadership of the ruling party for the successful conduct of its primaries.
Addressing journalists on behalf of the group, the Deputy Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Kenneth Chijindu Alozie, said the outcome of the primaries reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to justice, fairness, equity, transparency, and internal democracy.
According to him, the emergence of Chief (Barr.) Samuel Okezie Nwogu as the APC flag bearer for the Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency has restored equity within the constituency after nearly two decades of representation by candidates from Ukwa East Local Government Area.
He noted that Nwogu’s emergence has rekindled hope among party faithful and strengthened confidence in the APC’s commitment to inclusiveness and fairness.
The group described Nwogu as a seasoned administrator and accomplished public servant whose record of service speaks to his competence and leadership credentials. They highlighted his previous roles as Deputy Chairman of Ukwa West Local Government Area, Transition Committee Chairman, Chairman of the Abia State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ASOPADEC), Abia State representative on the Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), and Commissioner for Environment in Abia State.
The Renewed Hope Ambassadors also congratulated Prince Paul Ikonne on his emergence as the APC candidate for the Abia South Senatorial District, describing him as a visionary leader with the experience, capacity, and commitment to provide effective representation and further strengthen the party across the district.
Expressing confidence in both candidates, the group said the APC was well-positioned to record resounding victories in the forthcoming general elections, adding that Nwogu and Ikonne possess the qualities required to deliver purposeful, responsive, and people-oriented representation.
The organization reaffirmed its unwavering loyalty to the APC and pledged to embark on aggressive grassroots mobilization across wards and polling units in Ukwa East and Ukwa West Federal Constituency to ensure the party’s success at the polls.
The appreciation letter presented during the press conference was jointly endorsed by executives of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Ukwa East and Ukwa West Local Government Areas, ward coordinators, and other key stakeholders of the organization, all of whom reiterated their commitment to working for the victory of the APC in the 2027 elections.
