The people of
IPU West Autonomous Community, Owaza in Ukwa West LGA of Abia State on the 16th day of July 2025 paid a courtesy visit to the Abia State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (ASOPADEC) General Manager, Ven Dr. Joshua Onyeike to thank the Governor Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, on the appointment of their son, Ven. Dr Joshua Onyeike, as the General Manager of ASOPADEC.
The people of IPU West Autonomous Community delegates expressed gratitude to the governor for numerous developmental projects in the Asa land courtesy of the governor. Alex Otti. Speaking on behalf of the Ipu West Community, High Chief Chibuzor Nwagbara, the Traditional Prime Minister (TPM) of Ipu West Autonomous Community spoke glowingly in appreciation for what the government is doing in the area of infrastructural development such as the Obehie Umuokoromiri road which phase one has been completed and commissioned by the Governor, the ongoing Obehie Ezendioma- Road Project, the Numerous water projects and reticulation, and the completed market development projects especially, Ahia Orie Owaza and Ahia Afo Owaza Markets respectively. He assured the governor of their continued support and collaboration.
Also speaking, Chief Onyemachi Dimgba, the Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairman, thanked the governor for finding their son worthy to drive his New Abia Agenda and vouched for the integrity of the ASOPADEC General Manager.
He said, ” Our governor has eyes for sterling performers, and there’s no doubt why he appointed our son Ven. Dr. Joshua Onyeike. We are seeing massive growth in the areas of health and the completion of the Nurses’ Quarters at the Cottage Hospital in Owaza, done by ASOPADEC. It is one of the numerous projects this administration has done in our community, and we are here to identify with our son and thank the governor for this privilege.”
Also speaking, Amb. Dr. Lucky Eliogu prayed for the ASOPADEC Boss and urged him to continue on the path of truth and integrity, which everyone knows him for, and appealed to him to look at the areas of erosion control and desilting of drainage in Ipu West Autonomous Community. He said, “If care is not taken, the community will be in great danger due to erosion.”
Speaking on behalf of the youth, Comrade Udochukwu Nwambu, while assuring the ASOPADEC Boss of their collaboration and support, he reminded the GM that market women need seed assistance to enable them to boost their business while the youth need empowerment in the areas of ICT.
In his remarks, Ven. Onyike thanked the community leaders for coming to show solidarity and support, attributing all the glory to God who made it possible for him to be appointed, and thanked His Excellency Dr Alex Chioma Otti OFR, for finding him worthy to serve as the GM ASOPADEC under his administration. “Everything we have done is through God, who gives strength and wisdom, and all glory and honour belong to Him. The Governor has given us all the support to deliver people-oriented projects to our people and Abians at large. We will not relent.” He said.
Conclusively, “We have done a lot like you mentioned a few, we will continue to do more. Keep faith in this administration, Asa people will not regret it. He prayed for the community leaders and wished them a safe trip back to their destination.”
