Honourable Samuel Okezie Nwogu, the distinguished former Chairman of the Abia State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (ASOPADEC), a one-term Abia State Commissioner for Environment, and former representative of Abia State on the Niger Delta Development Commission board (NDDC), proudly received the “Youth Ambassador” award from the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) on July 25, 2025.
The award, which was received by the Special Assistant on General Duties to the legal luminary, Mr. Alozie Kenneth Chijindu, who represented the former NDDC boss, was in recognition of Nwogu’s unwavering commitment to nurturing and mentoring the youth of Abia State and Nigeria as a whole. The prestigious honour was bestowed during the “Elective Congress” of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Abia State Chapter, held at Eziama Hall in Aba.
In a powerful speech, the National President of the Youth Council, Amb. Sukubo Sareigbe Sukubo lauded Nwogu as a leader who sets a remarkable example, emphasising his substantial contributions to humanity and the exceptional achievements during his tenure as Chairman of ASOPADEC and Abia NDDC representative.
In his response, Honourable Nwogu expressed heartfelt gratitude to the NYCN for bestowing upon him the title of “Youth Ambassador” in the state. He encouraged the youth to embrace their roles as ambassadors in every aspect of life. “I am sincerely thankful to the organisers of this congress, particularly for honouring me with this special award from the youth body. It is a significant recognition, especially as it comes at a time when I am no longer holding a political position, yet I’m deemed worthy of this accolade,” he proclaimed.
