The Secretary to the Obingwa Local Government, Dr. Ahukanna Henry Ndubuisi, has dismissed reports alleging that he issued a counter-directive against the Abia State Government’s ban on commercial motorcycle (Okada) operations in major urban areas of the state, describing the claim as false and misleading.
In a disclaimer issued on Thursday, Dr. Ndubuisi reacted to a report allegedly aired on Real FM 99.1 Aba during its Sunrise News programme of July 19, 2026, which claimed that he had countered Governor Alex Otti’s directive on the enforcement of the ban.
The council secretary categorically denied ever making such a statement, insisting that the report was fabricated and did not originate from him.
“My attention has been drawn to a report on Real FM 99.1 Aba during Sunrise News on July 19, 2026, alleging that I issued a counter-directive to that of His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, the Executive Governor of Abia State, on the ban of Okada operations in the major urban areas of Abia State,” he stated.
Describing the allegation as “a lie from the pit of hell,” Dr. Ndubuisi stressed that he neither issued nor authorised any directive contrary to the position of the Abia State Government, adding that the information was attributed to an anonymous and undisclosed source.
He reaffirmed his unwavering support for Governor Otti’s administration and its policies, noting that he remains committed to the implementation of government directives aimed at improving security, public order, and transportation management across the state.
“I did not issue any such counter-directive. I am fully in support of the Governor’s directive and remain committed to the policies of the Abia State Government,” he said.
Dr. Ndubuisi further urged members of the public to disregard the report, describing it as baseless, unverifiable, and intended to mislead the public.
He called on residents to rely only on official government communications for authentic information concerning state policies and directives, warning against the spread of misinformation capable of causing unnecessary confusion among the public.
